Industry engagement - promoting responsible markets
For people in the UK to be prosperous we need public policy that promotes and enables them to save and invest for the future. We also need a well-functioning and responsible investment market.
As a leading UK wealth manager we promote conditions which protect the interests of savers. We do this in a number of ways, including responding to Government consultations, engaging with regulators and policy makers and participating in the work of industry bodies. We’re also part of several collaborative investor initiatives to promote best practice industry standards and robust investment markets.
Here are some of the industry groups we are members of.
- The Investment Association
The Investment Association is an industry association for UK investment managers. It works with different parts of the investment industry to make investment better for clients, companies seeking capital and the economy so that everyone prospers.
- TISA (Tax Incentivised Savings Association)
The business-led group TISA (Tax Incentivised Savings Association) aims to increase personal savings and investments in the UK by reviewing, developing and implementing effective policies, regulations, products, advice and services.
TheCityUK is a membership body which champions the UK-based financial services and related professional services. It proposes policies in the UK and internationally which drive competitiveness, creates jobs and lasting economic growth.
- Association of British Insurers (ABI)
The ABI works with government, regulators and policy makers both in the UK and internationally to promote best practice in the long term savings markets. The ABI has over 250 members accounting for over 90% of the UK insurance market.
