In line with its announcement on 15 November 2017, Old Mutual Wealth confirms that its group company name has changed from Old Mutual Wealth Management Limited to Quilter plc (“Quilter”). 


Old Mutual Wealth releases its latest life and critical illness claims data showing it has paid 100% of life claims for the eighth year in a row and 94.6% of all critical illness claims in 2017. Over this eight year period, Old Mutual Wealth have successfully paid out 15,067 claims with a total of over £976m paid.

In the government’s response to the Work and Pensions Select Committee’s report on pension scams, they reveal some of their upcoming plans to combat the increasing epidemic. These include:

Data published today from the ONS reveals some intriguing trends in levels of household wealth in the UK. The data shows that while overall wealth has increased, so too have debt levels, and while pension inequality has shrunk there are still significant challenges confronting the UK retirement savings landscape. 


Today the Ministry of Justice and Office of the Public Guardian announced a refund scheme for those who registered for a lasting or enduring powers of attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017. Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information request from Old Mutual Wealth reveal this will impact approximately 1.8 million people. 


Ian Browne, pensions expert at Old Mutual Wealth:  “In the fourth quarter of last year HMRC had to repay a staggering £20.5 million in emergency tax. What this number doesn’t tell is the number of people who have been overcharged because of emergency tax and did not claim it back.
