John-Paul Crutchley joins Old Mutual Wealth to head a newly created Investor Relations Function

07/09/2017

Old Mutual Wealth is pleased to announce that John-Paul Crutchley (known as J-P) joined the business on 4th September as Head of Investor Relations

Over the last year Old Mutual Wealth has been preparing its business for the proposed demerger and listing on the London and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges as part of Old Mutual plc’s managed separation process. As part of this preparation, having an effective Investor Relations function in place to support our engagement with current and future shareholders and industry analysts is a critical requirement.

Reporting to Tim Tookey, Chief Financial Officer, J-P will be responsible for leading Old Mutual Wealth’s standalone investor and shareholder relationship programme.

J-P has broad specialist knowledge of the financial services sector. He has joined Old Mutual Wealth from Atlas Mara, which is a London listed financial services group focused on providing innovative financial services propositions to retail and commercial customers across sub-Saharan Africa where he was Head of Investor Relations. Prior to joining Atlas Mara in January 2016, J-P gained 16 years of experience within global investment banks, including UBS, and Merrill Lynch, as a sell side analyst.  He also has direct business experience across banking, treasury and general management with Barclays. His widely read research and coverage of major institutions has given him detailed insights into businesses such as Scottish Widows, St James Place and Barclays Global Investors.

Kerry Adams-Strump has been promoted to Investor Relations Director, reporting to J-P.  Kerry is a Chartered Accountant and has been with the Old Mutual Group for nine years, and has held roles in Old Mutual plc, Old Mutual Emerging Markets in Cape Town and has spent the last three years working for Paul Feeney, CEO of Old Mutual Wealth.

Tim Tookey, comments:

“It is terrific that we have been able to attract somebody of J-P’s experience and standing to our business.  J-P and Kerry make a fantastic team.  J-P’s industry expertise and Kerry’s knowledge of our business will be a strong combination as we develop our standalone relationships with analysts and investors.”

J-P Crutchley adds:

“It is a very exciting time to join Old Mutual Wealth; the prospect of being part of a great team, building a great business with a successful standalone future was an irresistible opportunity.  I am greatly looking forward to being part of the Old Mutual Wealth Team on this journey.”
