Reporting to Iain Wright, Chief Risk Officer, Patrick will head Old Mutual Wealth’s company secretariat function. In particular, he will be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with the Old Mutual Wealth Board of Directors and overseeing the business’s corporate governance structure in preparation for an independent future, as part of Old Mutual plc’s Managed Separation process.
Patrick will bring over three decades of financial services company secretariat experience to Old Mutual Wealth. He will join the business from Barclays PLC, where he has worked since 2000, and has been Deputy Company Secretary since 2002. Prior to Barclays, Patrick undertook company secretarial roles with National Westminster Bank PLC and Lloyds Bank PLC.
Iain Wright, Chief Risk Officer at Old Mutual Wealth, comments:
“This is an exciting time for our organisation as we prepare for the Managed Separation from Old Mutual plc. We now have to ensure that we have the skills and capabilities needed to operate as a standalone business. Patrick will add strength and depth to our company secretarial function. The wealth of experience that he has gained from working in listed companies will be invaluable to us as we embark on the next phase of our corporate journey. I look forward to welcoming Patrick to the company in January.”
Patrick Gonsalves adds:
“I am delighted to be joining Old Mutual Wealth as I am excited by the challenge of working with a business that is preparing for an independent future and has such exciting potential.”
