The appointment of Mike Mainwaring comes as Old Mutual Wealth embarks on a new era of sponsorship for the business as a Principal Partner of England Rugby. Mike’s initial focus will be on Old Mutual Wealth’s title sponsorship of England Rugby Men’s and Women’s Autumn Internationals, which will become known as the Old Mutual Wealth Series from 2016. This is the first Principal Partnership to cover both teams’ autumn matches.
Mike has over 16 years’ experience in sponsorship and joins Old Mutual Wealth from sportswear firm Canterbury, where he successfully led its sponsorship strategy, including Rugby World Cup 2015 activity. Mike was previously a Director at Generate, an independent sports marketing agency and prior to that managed Carlsberg UK’s sponsorship portfolios across football, rugby and music.
Mike will report to Michelle Andrews, marketing director at Old Mutual Wealth.
