Old Mutual Wealth extends adviser support  with pensions specialist hire

Old Mutual Wealth is further strengthening its adviser facing support through the appointment of Martin Clubbs as pensions specialist. Martin will be responsible for development and growth of Old Mutual Wealth’s platform business, with particular focus on the individual pensions market.

Martin brings over 20 years’ experience in the pensions and investment industry.

Prior to his appointment at Old Mutual Wealth, Martin was strategic relationships manager at Scottish Widows where he was responsible for managing a team of business development managers and key adviser relationships for corporate pensions business in the north of England.

This latest hire is part of Old Mutual Wealth’s drive to increase support for financial advisers following April’s pension reforms. In 2015 Old Mutual Wealth has doubled the size of its specialist support team from 8 to 16 and employed 75 new members in its telephone contact centre.  The company is also currently recruiting to double its number of office-based adviser support consultants to 20.

Scott Goodsir, managing director, UK distribution, Old Mutual Wealth, comments:

“2015 has been a year of significant change in our industry and one of our key priorities has been to enhance our support for advisers to help them deliver excellent outcomes for their clients, particularly following the pension reforms in April. 2016 already looks like it will offer more of the same so I’m pleased to be adding further expertise to our team.”

Martin Clubbs comments:

“Old Mutual Wealth is a vibrant, fast developing business with a growing reputation and I’m excited to be joining the specialist team to provide advisers with the help they need. The breadth of talent in the team is unparalleled in the industry and I’m very much looking forward to the task ahead.”
