Paul Feeney

CEO, Old Mutual Wealth

Paul Feeney has been Chief Executive of Old Mutual Wealth since July 2012.  Old Mutual Wealth is the UK’s leading integrated Wealth and Asset Management business with over £100bn assets under management.  Paul joined Old Mutual in January 2012 as CEO of Asset Management before moving into his present position.   Prior to joining Old Mutual he was Executive Director and Global Head of Distribution for BNY Mellon Asset Management and before that Group Managing Director of Gartmore Investment Management and CEO of Natwest Private Banking.  He has a first class Honours Degree and PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Wales. 

Paul is a board member of the Investment Association and The City UK as well as a member of the FCA Practitioners Panel and a trustee of Sense International, the leading charity for deaf blind children in developing countries.

Martin Baines

Chief Investment Director

Martin Baines became Chief Investment Director of Old Mutual Wealth in August 2015. Prior to this, Martin was Chief Executive Officer of Quilter Cheviot for over ten years and he has over 25 years’ experience in the stockbroking and investment management industry. 

He became a Director of Quilter in 1998 and joined the Management Group in 1999.  He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Quilter Fund Management Limited. Martin has previously served as Head of Onshore Branches, with specific responsibility to build the UK branch network. Following the purchase of Quilter by Morgan Stanley in 2001, Martin was appointed as a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley in 2002 and Chief Executive Officer of Quilter in 2003.  In 2011/2012, Martin led the Bridgepoint backed buyout of Quilter from Morgan Stanley. The Quilter business then merged with Cheviot, a leading London based investment management. Post integration of the two companies, Martin led the subsequent deal process which resulted in Quilter Cheviot becoming part of Old Mutual Wealth.

After graduating in economics, he trained originally with KPMG before beginning a career in stockbroking and investment management. Martin is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Steven Braudo

Chief Operating Officer

Steven joined Old Mutual Wealth as COO in June 2016.  Prior to this, Steven was CEO of Standard Bank Wealth, where he led the wealth businesses globally which included asset management and distribution, short and long term insurance and financial planning across all client segments. Before this Steven held various senior roles within Liberty Holdings in their Corporate and Retail Divisions. His career at Liberty Holdings culminated when he was promoted to Group Deputy CEO and Director of Liberty Board. Before joining Liberty, Steven held the Operations Director role of a start-up multi-manager firm and went on to become Managing Director of the South African and UK businesses.  An Actuary by training, Steven started his career as an Actuarial Manager in the Corporate Life department of Commercial Union Life (subsequently part of the Aviva Group). 

Matt Burton

Audit Director

Matt Burton became Internal Audit Director in April 2016. Prior to this, Matt was a Partner in PwC’s Financial Services Internal Audit Practice for two years. Matt has over twenty years’ internal audit experience in financial services having held senior audit roles in Credit Suisse, where he was Chief Auditor for EMEA, and Deutsche Bank. Matt began his career as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.

Richard Buxton

CEO, Old Mutual Global Investors

Richard joined Old Mutual as Head of UK Equities in June 2013, and was appointed as Chief Executive in August 2015. He was previously at Schroders, where he managed the Schroders UK Alpha Plus Fund for over 10 years. Prior to Schroders he spent over decade at Baring Asset Management, having commenced his investment career in 1985 at Brown Shipley Asset Management. Richard was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Honour at the Morningstar OBSR Awards in 2012 and has a degree in English Language and Literature, Oxford University.

Richard Freeman

Chief Distribution Officer

Richard became Chief Distribution Officer of Old Mutual Wealth in December 2015. Prior to this, Richard was Chief Executive of Intrinsic from 2010, having previously joined as sales director back in 2005. Prior to this he was on the management board of Allied Dunbar, where he was responsible for more than 2,000 advisers. Richard joined the British Army aged 18, and was commissioned four years later, rising to the rank of Major. During his Service career he was based in Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Germany and the UK.

Tracey Hahn

HR Director

Tracey joined Old Mutual Wealth as HR Director in August 2012. Prior to this, Tracey was an MD at Merrill Lynch where her roles included Global Head of HR for the Chief Financial Officer, and Global Head of HR for FICC (Fixed Income, Commodities and Currencies) both based in New York. In 2005 Tracey moved back to the UK to take up Merrill's Regional Head of HR role for EMEA, which spanned 9,000 employees and her responsibilities included the divestiture of Mercury Asset Management to Blackrock.

Tracey began her HR career at Mercury Communication, part of Cable and Wireless.  Mercury were the only alternative to BT at the time of telecoms market liberalisation. It was a rapidly-growing, highly-creative, tech environment with HR best practice.

Tracey has an MSc in Strategic Human Resource Development from South Bank University.

Steven Levin

CEO, Investment Platforms

Steven has been CEO, Investment Platforms since October 2015 and was Global Head of Distribution from July 2014. 

Prior to this, he was Managing Director of Skandia International (now Old Mutual International) covering the Isle of Man, Far East and European entities. Steven has extensive experience in developing and distributing financial service products as well as in asset management and investments, and he was previously Product & Proposition Director for Old Mutual in South Africa and then globally for Old Mutual plc. He has also been an equity analyst and fund manager in Old Mutual’s asset management business. Steven is an actuary and Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mark Satchel

Corporate Finance Director

Mark joined Old Mutual in the UK in January 2000 and has held numerous leadership positions within the finance function at Old Mutual plc and in the operating business units.  He joined the Board of Old Mutual Wealth in 2010 on his appointment as Chief Financial Officer to the business (then branded ‘Skandia’).  Mark has been responsible for the disposal of nine businesses in Continental Europe, and played a lead role in the acquisition of Intrinsic and Quilter Cheviot.  He was instrumental in implementing Old Mutual Wealth’s successful business model and helped scope the footprint of the business which has led to the development of a business that is now fit for an independent listing.  Prior to his current role, Mark was Chief Financial Officer for Skandia's Europe & Latin America Division, and before that he spent a year in Sweden on the integration of Skandia into Old Mutual.  Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa, and worked for KPMG in both South Africa and Canada prior to moving to the UK.

Andy Thompson

CEO, Intrinsic

Andy was appointed CEO of Intrinsic in December 2015. Prior to that he was Distrinbution Director, leading the Distribution team to provide first-class products, services and support for advisers. Andy joined Intrinsic in early 2012, having spent eight years as Managing Director of his own advisory business, Blueprint Financial Services. As a start-up business in 2003, Blueprint grew to 180 advisers and an annual turnover of £12m before its acquisition by Intrinsic. Prior to this, Andy was a financial adviser before rising to become a Regional Director for the Zurich Advice Network, managing and leading the London region for over five years.

Tim Tookey

Chief Financial Officer, Old Mutual Wealth (subject to regulatory approval)

Tim brings a wealth of financial services experience to Old Mutual Wealth.  He has worked at board level in financial services for over 20 years and has been responsible for managing a large number of significant business transformation and strategic projects, mergers and acquisitions.  Most recently, Tim was Chief Financial Officer of Friends Life Group (2012-15). Prior to this his roles included six years at Lloyds Banking Group plc, including being Group Finance Director from 2008-12; Finance Director (UK and Europe) at Prudential plc from 2002 to 2007, and Group Finance Director at Heath Lambert Group. Tim worked at Heaths from 1996 to 2002 leading the management buy-out of CE Heath plc in 1997 and the public takeover of Lambert Fenchurch plc in 1999. Tim worked at KPMG from 1985 to 1996, specialising in corporate finance advisory work and audit.  Tim is currently a Non-Executive Director of Old Mutual Wealth, a position he has held since February 2017, and is a Non-Executive Director of Nationwide Building Society, where he chairs the Board Risk Committee and is a member of certain other board committees including the Audit Committee.

Iain Wright

Chief Risk Officer

Iain Wright became Chief Risk Officer in February 2016. Prior to this, he worked for Sun Life Financial as Chief Risk Officer of the UK business in 2011 and transferred to the Corporate Head Office as Senior Vice President, Enterprise and Operational Risk in 2013. 

Iain began his career as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, and later moved to the London Stock Exchange where he carried out a number of roles, completing his career there as Head of Equity and Debt Markets. When the Financial Services Authority (FSA) was formed in 2000, Iain formed part of the leadership team, heading up the supervision of major insurance groups. Moving to Prudential as Chief Risk Officer of the UK and Europe business, Iain remained in the role for three years before leaving to establish an insurance and regulatory consultancy in 2009.
