Answers to questions you may have about Protect Quote and Apply.
Protect Quote and Apply is the new online application system for our Protect life and critical illness plan.
As one of the partners for our pilot you should already be registered for the system and have your user name and password.
If you were already using Adviser View, your username and password will be the same for the new Protect Quote and Apply system.
However, if you are not registered simply go to the Protect Quote and Apply login screen to sign up. You can find details of the process on the Protect webpage.
Adviser View will continue to be available but the current Protect quote and application facilities will close following the full launch of the new system.
As the name suggests, you will be able to create Protect quotes and then apply online.
Unlike the current Adviser View system, Protect Quote and Apply includes interactive underwriting. This means a full application can be completed online, including all of the underwriting questions, which the system can then assess. It can then give a decision as to whether we can accept the application. If your client is happy with the outcome you can start the cover straight away.
This means for a lot of cases there will be no need for an underwriter to assess the case, or for you to post signed declarations and Direct Debit forms. It can all be completed online without the need for paperwork.

Interactive underwriting uses software generically called an ‘Underwriting Rules Engine’ (URE). When you answer the underwriting questions online the URE can assess the answers and, if needs be, ask more questions to gather more information. It can then assess the answers against a number of rules and provide a decision. The possible decisions are standard, rated, declined and postponed.
Non-interactive underwriting is where the system only asks the basic underwriting questions, like those in a paper application. It doesn’t ask the extra questions it needs to make a decision. Once you’ve finished, the application is referred to an underwriter to make the decision or request further information if required.
You can choose which to use before you start answering the questions, or change from one to the other during the process.
Yes, you will be able to see the acceptance letters and quote online. Two new documents will also be created:
Once the cover is live we will post the confirmation letter and remaining policy documents.
Not if you use Protect Quote and Apply. Online apps and Direct Debits can be completed without any signatures.
For applications where we require the Access to Medical Records Authority (AMRA) form to be completed, we will need it to be printed and signed by the client, but this can be scanned and uploaded. We don’t need a paper copy to be posted to us.
Paper applications will still need to be signed in all of the relevant places.
Yes, paper applications will continue to be accepted. You can use the same data capture form as for online applications.

You will also receive e-mail updates and can choose to receive summary emails on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.
